CASABLANCA

Hassan II Mosque

This mosque would be the only place in the whole city that is worthy to visit because the city in itself is quite poor and rough. The mosque is the third largest around the world; the Medina and Mecca are the most important. Hassan II was built during the nineties,  and since then it is preserved thanks to both the faithfuls cooperation and the entrance tiquet recquired for tourism (12e). Is is located in a very poor neighbourhood which is quite interesting in order to see the contrast there is between the opulance of the Mosque and the humble area we are in.
It is the only mosque in Morocco where non-Muslims are allowed to get in.
Its  location is totally unexpected, literally inside the sea. There,  the winds and waves are strong, and one of the problems to cope with  is the corrosion.
