Tel aviv acostuma a ser la primera parada d'un viatges a Terra Santa, perquè la ciutat està ben conectada en avió amb les principals ciutats europees. El punt d'arribada a la ciutat, pot ser l'estació central de busos, una de les més grans que he vist mai. Abans d'accedir-hi, és obligatori obrir el nostre equipatge abans d'accedir a l'interior, ja que Tel Aviv ha patit terrorisme. A dintre hi ha un centre comercial. Encara que l'edifici va ser inaugurat als anys noranta, el lloc és bastant sòrdid, amb àrees abandonades i gent una mica extranya als voltants.
Tel Aviv is usually
the first stop when travelling to Sacred Land, because the city is
flight connected with the main european destinations. The arrival
point could be the main bus station, one of the biggest I have ever
seen. Before going inside, showing our luggage is a must, as Tel
Aviv has suffered from terrorism. After that we can see a shopping
center. Although the building was opened in the nineties, it looks
like very rough, with some abandoned areas and strange people around.

Allunyada dels emplaçaments històrics de Jerusalem, el viatger no trobarà aquí monuments espectaculars o jaciments arqueològics. El que es trobarà és una ciutat moderna, en contrast amb la tradicional Jerusalem, i molts llocs per descobrir. Per visitar la ciutat, n'hi ha prou amb un dia però molt millor si són dos. És un bon lloc per estar-s'hi durant el Sabbath, quan absolutament tot es troba tancat, fins i tot el transport, perquè les normes a Tel Aviv són una mica més laxes i alguns restaurants estan oberts, amb la qual cosa podrem gaudir de la cuina del país, una interesant barreja entre àrab i mediterrània.
Far away from the
historical sites of Jerusalem, the traveler will not find here
stunning monuments or archeological sites. What one can find here is
a modern city, opposite to the traditional Jerusalem, and lots of
places to discover. For visiting the city, one day will be fine but
two will be much better. It is a good place for staying during the
Sabbath, when absolutely everything, even public transportation, is
closed, because the rules here are more relaxed and some restaurants
are open to enjoy the country cuisine, an interesting mixture of
arabic and mediterranean style.
La primera part de la nostra visita pot començar a Jaffa. Al costat de la moderna Tel Aviv, l'antiga Jaffa té un pintoresc port i un barri bohemi. El lloc és un bon indret per passejar i menjar alguna cosa en algun dels seus nombrosos restaurants. Des del turó, es pot contemplar una bona panoràmica del skyline de Tel aviv. No massa lluny d'aquí, els turistes gaudiran del Flee market. Es tracta d'un mercat d'articles de segona mà on es pot trobar quasevol cosa. No obstant, el mercat no és l'únic punt d'interès, ja que la Clock Tower és el símbol de la vella Jaffa.
The first step in
our visit can start at Jaffa. Next to the modern Tel-Aviv, the old
Jaffa offers a nice port and a bohemian neighborhood. The area is a
good place for strolling around and having something to eat in some
of its restaurant. From the hill, the tourist can contemplate a good
view of the Tel Aviv skyline. Not far away from Jaffa hill, the
tourists are pleased by the Flea market. It is a second hand market
where you can buy everything you need. However, the market is not
the only point of interest, because the Clock tower is the symbol of
the old Jaffa.

Seguint el mar, a la dreta hi ha un altre mercat: el Carmel Market. Es troba al costat del barri yemenita, un lloc d'un altre temps. Aquest és un bon punt d'inici per veure la ciutat blanca, cases construïdes seguint l'estil Bahaus, encara que algunes necessiten una urgent rehabilitació.
Following the sea ,
to the right there is another market: Carmel Market. Next to the
yemeni neighborhood, which is a place from another time. This is a
good start for seeing the white city, houses built following the
Bahaus style. However, rehabilitation in some houses is needed.

Un altre punt d'interès és l'extensa platja. Musulmans i jueus ultraortodoxes tenen les seves platges, on tothom vesteix d'una manera modesta. Deixant de banda aquest fet, podríem trobar-nos a qualsevol lloc d'Europa. La curiositat sobre les platges de Tel Aviv és que sembla que tothom practiui esport, especialment els autòctons que juguem amb les raquetes de platga. Això fa que no sigui fàcil prendre el sol si no s'hi està acostumat, ja que és complicat arribar a l'aigua intentant evitar les partides de raquetes. És diferent però sembla que funciona i aquest jocs produeixen una especial melodia a la platga.
One of its main
point of interest is the long beach. Muslims and ultraortodox jews
have specific beaches, where everybody is dressed modestly. Apart
from this, we could be elsewhere in Europe. The curiosity about Tel
Aviv beach is that everybody seems to practice sport here, specially
locals who play to rackets. It is not easy the first time sunbathing
there, because if you are not used you will reach the water with
some difficulty, avoiding the racket games. It is different but it
seems to work. These games produce a special soundtrack in the beach.
